David Brent Releases New Song

For years, office manager David Brent lived and worked in the English town of Slough, home to the Wernham Hogg Paper Company. Now Brent is back with a tribute song the place where his paper company dreams came true on the original British version of “The Office”.
Ricky Gervais is resurrecting his David Brent character in a new mockumentary being done with the BBC. The new project catches up with David Brent 15 years after he’s left his paper company gig. It has a “Where Are They Now?” style to it. Where is David Brent? He’s out on the road trying to live his rock and roll dream, but also working as a traveling salesman to finance this alleged rock tour.
The song simply titled “Slough” is a really over specific love letter to the town. It disputes the popular opinion that the city is “souless and it’s boring and grey”. The AV Club calls it “the Scranton of England”. “Slough” also pinpoints exactly where the town is located on a map and how convenient is for the work commute.
The new BBC “David Brent” project starts filming next year.
