Back in 2005, the comedy world lost a legend in Mitch Hedberg. Hedberg was one of the most beloved comics of his generation, mastering a unique style of delivering deadpan, pun-packed non-sequiturs that were both charmingly fun and supremely quotable. Hedberg had only released two albums before his untimely death at the age of 37, a fact that comedy fans the world over have lamented ever since.
Back in 2008, Comedy Central Records posthumously released Do You Believe in Gosh?, a live album consisting of material Hedberg recorded while in Ontario in 2005. Hedberg’s wife, Lynn Shawcroft, had a hand in getting that record made, and now she’s teaming back up with Comedy Central Records to release Mitch Hedberg: The Complete Vinyl Collection.
Mitch Hedberg: The Complete Vinyl Collection is the ultimate in Hedberg history. The collection is just that: a collection of recordings, images and essays that celebrate the life and career of Mitch Hedberg. The bundle consists of:
– All three of Hedberg’s albums, Strategic Grill Locations (Double LP with bonus content), Mitch All Together, and Do You Believe in Gosh? on 12-inch vinyl.
– A 36-page book full of rare pictures as well as stories and essays written by Hedberg’s wife Lynn and comedy contemporaries like Doug Stanhope, Margaret Cho and Mike Birbiglia.
– A custom USB drive containing MP3s from all of Hedberg’s albums along with never-before-heard recordings, an uncut recording of his 1999 Comedy Central Presents special, and a few other extras.
This collection is not to be missed by any fan of Hedberg’s (or just fans of comedy in general), so be sure to keep an eye out for it when it drops on November 4th, or pre-order your copy over at Amazon.
