Comedian Michelle Wolf to Join The Daily Show

The Daily Show has expanded it’s roster of writers today with Comedy Central’s announcement that comedian Michelle Wolf will join the team.
Wolf, a writer and stand-up comic based out of New York, has an outstanding reputation as an up and comer, and was most recently a writing supervisor for Late Night with Seth Meyers. She’s made multiple appearances on @midnight, and has also created and starred in two of Comedy Central’s digital series: Used People, which she co-created/stars in with Dan Soder, and Now Hiring, which she also wrote and stars in.
Wolf, who was featured on Vulture’s list of ”50 Comedians You Should Know in 2015”and Time Out New York’s “The Top 10 Funniest Women in NYC,” will be writing for the show as well as making some appearances as an on-screen personality. Wolf joins a prestigious list of writers, contributors and correspondents for the show that includes John Hodgman, Lewis Black, Adam Lowitt, Wyatt Cenac, Rory Albanese, and many more. The Daily Show experienced a regime change last year when veteran host Jon Stewart left the show after 16 years.
Shortly after he announced his departure, the show’s two most senior correspondents, Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, both announced they were leaving the show in favor of their own writing/starring roles over at TBS. Stewart left in September, and South African comedian Trevor Noah stepped behind the desk in his place.
Since then, the show has been making an effort to rediscover itself and develop it’s own voice with the younger Noah at the helm. The show’s main thrust, as before, is to examine current events, and the way they’re portrayed by the mainstream media, in a different (i.e. rational, level-headed) manner. The Daily Show can be seen on air and online weeknights at 11 pm.
