Brooks Wheelan Fired From Saturday Night Live
First season SNL featured cast member Brooks Wheelan announced on Twitter that he won’t be back on the show in the fall. He said in his tweet that he had been fired.
Had a blast and loved every second of it. I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke… FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!

The Hollywood Reporter says that a source close to SNL confirmed that Brooks wouldn’t return.
Brooks was part of a major cast overhaul on Saturday Night Live. The show had lost cast members Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers (to Late Night), Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg the season before. Brooks was then brought in as the 6th featured player to be added to SNL for season 39. After the season was over, Lorne Michaels said that casting changes were coming to SNL. So far, Brooks Wheelan leaving the show is the only change that’s been reported.
Brooks Wheelan talked about his first year on SNL and his favorite moments in this Saturday Night Live Backstage video.
