Lorne Michaels: SNL Casting Changes Are Coming
While talking to Deadline.com, Lorne Michaels talked about SNL casting changes, and confirmed that there will be more to come from the Maya Rudolph Variety Hour. Rudolph’s first one hour special which aired on May 19th received solid ratings, and Michael’s referenced more to come, telling Deadline, “If Maya’s show (takes off) I will be there till it’s strong enough.”
Lorne also left little doubt that he’s shaking up the cast on Saturday Night Live. After losing four leading men (Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis) plus losing Seth Meyers midseason, Lorne told Deadline, “Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re still in the middle of rebuilding. So, there will be changes this year.”
That statement just gave the cast a nice relaxing Summer off.
