Ali Wong and Randall Park to Write/Star in Upcoming Netflix Comedy
Details are scant at the moment, but Deadline is reporting that comedian Ali Wong (American Housewife, Ali Wong: Baby Cobra) and actor Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat, Veep) have teamed up to write and star in a new Netflix comedy along with Grimm’s Michael Galamco. No director has been selected for the as-yet-unnamed film.
The movie will depict Wong and Park as childhood friends who reconnect and fall in love as adults. The relationship is fraught with problems, however, as the two lead very different lives both personally and professionally. Park and Wong previously worked together on ABC’s popular sitcom Fresh Off the Boat; Wong as a writer for the show, and Park as the Huang family patriarch, Louis.
