Jason Jones and Samantha Bee’s Detour Will Keep Moving

TBS has just announced that they’ve renewed their hit comedy, The Detour, for a third season. The show, which was created by comedy power couple Samantha Bee and Jason Jones (who also stars), is preparing to wrap up its second season tonight.
The Detour tells the story of the Parker family’s road trip from hell. Nate Parker (Jones), Robin Randall (Natalie Zea), Jared (Liam Carroll), and Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) embark on a trip from Syracuse, New York to Florida for a “family vacation” that turns out to be anything but. Encounters with the cops, medical emergencies, mechanical problems and a host of other obstacles all combine to test the family’s limits. The show has been a hit since the start, with both seasons ranking in the top three scripted comedies on TV among adults 18-49.
“I hear from so many people who love The Detour, even my hardcore comedy friends,” said TBS’s senior VP of original programming, Thom Hinkle. “Season Two has been so smart, hilarious and wrong. And from the early nuggets I’ve gotten from Jason and Sam, season three is going to be even more effed up.”
