Bill Murray and President Obama Putt While Talking Healthcare

This could be the part of the job that Barack Obama misses the most when he leaves office, hitting golf balls with Bill Murray. In a video released by the White House this weekend, President Obama and Bill Murray turn the Oval Office into their own putting green. It’s not often one of the stars of the best golf comedy ever made gets to stop by the White House to putt. It’s a Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greens keeper, now, about to become the White House champion. It looks like a mirac… It’s in the glass! It’s in the glass! It’s in the glass!

Barry and Bill weren’t just goofing off in their White House video, they had some business to take care of and that’s the business of healthcare. In between putts, the two talked about Obamacare AKA the Affordable Healthcare Act and how to go online to shop around and sign up. And according to the video, the current sign up window is happening just in time to take care of Bill Murray’s bad knee which “barks just a little a bit”. It’s not the funniest sketch Bill Murray has ever appeared in, and the budget couldn’t have been that great because Bill Murray is wearing the same Chicago Cubs gear he wore when he crashed a White House press briefing two months ago. Either they shot this video the same day or Bill just hasn’t taken it off since the Cubbies won the World Series, which is still a point of consternation for the country’s Commander-in-Chief and best known White Sox fan. Also, the editors of this video really could have done something to make the President’s putting game look a little better.

The video wraps with Bill Murray trying to go through President Obama’s drawers looking for where Michelle keeps his money. He didn’t get any cash and he may not have healthcare, but Bill will always have this unique moment with the President of the United States. So he’s got that goin’ for him, which is nice.
