Seth Meyers is doing a week of shows from our nation’s capital. One of his guests on the first of his NBC Late Night shows from the Warner Theater in Washington D.C. is someone who is no stranger to the D.C. political world, Sarah Silverman.

Sarah told Seth about her father Donald’s own minor political agenda, taking on the rich families of Boca Raton, Florida with his Twitter account aimed at the snobs of South Florida, @RantsFromBoca. From there, she gave a brief history of how her father encouraged her with comedy by sending her off to summer camp with joke books to read. Some of these “tasteless jokes” probably weren’t sleep-away camp friendly. However, if you’re interested in finding out “How to get rid of crabs?”, watch the clips below.

The summer camp Sarah Silverman was sent to was one that her dad went to every year and became a camp counselor at as a teenager. He was a very conscientious counselor who went above and beyond what a counselor should do to check on the kids he’s in charge of. Okay, probably not above, but definitely way beyond. One thing, Donald Silverman learned that summer of counseling was what the letters “L / H” stand for on his daily reports. And it’s not “loose” and “hard”.

With it being political season, Sarah also told Seth Meyers about her appearance at this summer’s Democratic National Convention and finding herself having to stretch to fill time with Senator Al Franken because Paul Simon and his band weren’t ready to perform yet. Thanks a lot Paul. But it was her experience backstage at the 2008 DNC when she met former Vice-President Al Gore that somehow was even stranger. The moment was captured in a photo shown by Seth to his DC audience. What’s so special about it is that the night before heading to Denver for the DNC, Sarah Silverman had picked up some pot cookies from the “pot guy” at the UCB Theater and had half of one while attending the convention. She goes on to explain in the clips below that there is a connection between that moment when you say to yourself, “I really don’t feel anything” to your next reaction being “Oh no!”. And try going through that while meeting Al Gore.

You can see the Emmy and Grammy award winning Sarah Silverman live this weekend. First on Saturday at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida and then Sunday as part of the Hell Yes Fest in New Orleans, Louisiana.
