Moshe Kasher to Host Late Night Talk Show

Moshe Kasher is coming to late night! Comedy Central announced Wednesday that they have greenlighted Moshe Kasher’s new show, Problematic with Moshe Kasher, which they originally ordered a pilot for back in March. Problematic will be hosted by Kasher using a talk show format, where Kasher will bring the ever-present online outrage into the studio each week in order to tackle some of our society’s biggest issues with the help of fellow comedians, panels of experts and the audience itself.
Kasher is a Comedy Central veteran, co-starring, producing and writing for various series on the network such as Another Period, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, This Is Not Happening and @midnight with Chris Hardwick. He’s got a decent-sized following on Twitter, where he often harps on social issues with the sarcasm and wit that has also landed him writing gigs for multiple Comedy Central Roasts.
“I see myself as the Phil Donahue of the Internet Age except not as funny or dialed into millennial culture,” said Kasher in a statement. “This show will create a safe space for offensive comedy and more importantly engender conversations that will completely end all acrimony, racism, sexism, trolling and whatever else you find offensive online once and for all. I promise.”
Lofty claims to be sure. Comedy Central President Ken Alterman added “We’re gratified to know we will be living in a Utopian society by season three.”
We’ll have to wait until 2017 to see if Kasher really has what it takes to rid the world of all conflict; Until then, you could always check out his first one-hour special, Moshe Kasher: Live in Oakland, on Hulu now.
