Legends of Chamberlain Heights Renewed Before It Debuts

It appears that Comedy Central thinks they have something really special with their new animated show Legends of Chamberlain Heights. On Thursday, the network announced that they’d renewed the show for a second season months before the first season is even set to premiere.
Legends of Chamberlain Heights follows the story of three high school freshman, Grover, Jamal and Milk, who have lofty dreams of becoming hotshot pro basketball players, despite the fact that they spend most of their time warming the bench. It’s being produced by Bento Box Entertainment’s Scott Greenberg and Joel Kuwahara (the folks behind Bob’s Burgers and Brickleberry), and boasts a writing/production staff that includes The Simpsons’ Brad Ableton and Everybody Hates Chris’ Devon Shepard, so it’s no surprise that Comedy Central was so eager to lock the show down on their network.
“This show pushes the envelope far enough to warrant a second season before season one even airs,” said Comedy Central President Kent Alterman.
“We are so lucky to be working with Comedy Central and their strong executive team,” said Joel Kuwahara. “They’ve been nothing but supportive and getting a second season is like hitting a game winning 3 pointer!”
The sports-themed show will make its Comedy Central debut on Wednesday, September 14th at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT immediately after South Park. Check out a trailer for the show below:
