Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: April 8, 2017

Who is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight? Is SNL Live Tonight? Will it be amazing?

Yes! SNL is live tonight, after a multi-week hiatus, and it’s being hosted by one of stand up comedy’s biggest stars, Louis C.K.  If there was a Mount Rushmore of comedians who are alive and still performing today, it could not be built without putting Louis’ face on it- his contributions to stand up comedy and comedic television, and his popularity are too well established to bother going on any further about it, but just in case you’ve been living in the desert for a few years, not only is C.K. one of the top selling touring comics today, he has also created a string of great stand up specials, and has starred in or produced some of the best serial television of the last five years including Horace and Pete, Louie, Better Things, Baskets, One Mississippi, and he also produced one of our favorite specials of the year, voted by our readers as the #1 Comedy Special of 2016, Barry Crimmins: Whatever Threatens You.

Tonight C.K. will host SNL for the fourth time. Most recently, he hosted the show’s season finale in 2015, delivering a controversial and unforgettable monologue.  Before that, we saw Louis hosting in November of 2012, and then again in March, 2014. This year, he’s promoting a brand new hour stand up special that was just released this week on Netflix. It’s called Louis C.K. 2017 and if you haven’t watched it yet, hurry up because it’s got greatness all over it.

So make sure you tune in tonight, particularly for Louis’ monologue which is sure to be a topic of conversation tomorrow morning when you and your friends go out to brunch.

Watch the promos for tonight’s episode. In the first, Louis C.K. tells SNL to cut the bullshit, this isn’t the Grammys; he wants a no frills promo. In a second promo, he appears with musical guest The Chainsmokers, and Kate McKinnon and we find out how often Louis buys new jeans, as well as how easy it is to impress Kate McKinnon.

Tune in tonight at 11:30 pm nationwide!
