Twitter Love For SNL’s Baltimore Orioles Empty Stadium Sketch
Throughout Season 40 of Saturday Night Live, people on Twitter have found reasons to be outraged. ISIS parodies and sketches about male students sleeping with their teachers have brought out 140 character or less indignation from tweeters this season. SNL’s sketch about how the Baltimore riots forced the Orioles to play in an empty stadium had just the opposite effect.
SNL got positive Twitter reviews for its sketch featuring Kenan Thompson and Taran Killam as Frank Robinson and Jim Palmer trying to not only call a ball game with no fans, but also thread lightly on the volatile situation in Baltimore. The sketch featured plenty of “foot-in-mouth” moments including “Baltimore has just been on fire this week” and “Baltimore took an absolute beating from the boys in blue” referring to the Blue Jays. Those were following by apologies from Robinson and Palmer.
Tweeters were calling the sketch “hilarious” and appreciated SNL not overlooking the unrest in Baltimore. It’s not often you see Twitter taking the weekend off from being offended.

I know everyone is watching the fight, but SNL just killed it with their Orioles/Baltimore riot sketch.
