The Sound of Trump America in NYC: Times Square Goes Silent as Trump Racks Up Electoral Votes

Times Square was jam packed with hopeful New Yorkers Tuesday night, watching election results on multiple big screens from the center of the square. So was the southern side of Times Square by ABC News headquarters. And so was Rockefeller Plaza. But despite thousands of people gathering together, Times Square was as silent as an empty church. Nobody reveled. Nobody cheered. Everyone was too stunned to even hold conversations outside of scattered low murmurs. With the exception of a mildly rowdy area outside of the FOX News building, nobody felt like talking.

Outside of 30 Rock, the only sound was the television broadcasting election results and occasional CPAP device commercials.  In Times Square you could hear the awkward barkers meekly suggesting that they had free tickets to comedy shows for anyone who likes comedy. But not much else.  We grabbed a video from sad headquarters.  Here’s what we saw.
