What Does Saturday Night Live Ice Cream Taste Like?

Ben and Jerry’s has taken on the challenge and just announced their two newest ice cream flavors, both based on the iconic television show. What flavor is Saturday Night Live ice cream?  Well, there’s not really an official Saturday Night Live flavor, but now there are two  brand new Ben and Jerry’s flavors based on Saturday Night Live sketches.   First you’ve got Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch based on Kristin Wiig’s mischevious little elementary school student character.

Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is described as being ‘frantic as its little girl namesake’ and combines chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, caramel clusters, fudge covered almonds and a marshmallow swirl.

And then there’s Lazy Sunday, inspired by the Lonely Island digital short with Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell about mackin on some Magnolia cupcakes.  Lazy Sunday features vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl.

The first Ben and Jerry Flavor to be based on a Saturday Night Live sketch, “Shweddy Balls” was based on the famous Alec Baldwin sketch, but it only lasted a few months before being pulled from many grocery stores for its adult themed content. Both Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch, and Lazy Sunday will only be available by the scoop in scoop shops, so there shouldn’t be any problems with g-rated grocery stores.
