Ready For Mallrats 2!?
Kevin Smith is writing “Mallrats 2”. ComicBook.com confirmed that Smith announced the news that he was working on the script in an interview on Tuscon’s Rock 102. The 1995 comedy starred Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams and Jason Mewes and Smith himself as Jay & Silent Bob.
Days earlier, Kevin Smith tweeted “I smell a rat…”. He confirmed that was a less than cryptic messaged that “Mallrats 2” is in the works. He said, “Yeah, that’s what we’re working on.” He added, “It’s half a script right now and we’re pulling our loot together. We’ve got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we’re going to be shooting.”
Smith said this project is mainly for his own amusement. “Nobody’s clamoring for a Mallrats sequel, but I would love to make one. It’s been like 20 years.”
As for the plot, this time they will be in gym clothes getting an early morning walk in.
