With “The Mindy Project” nearing a triple digit episode count typical of syndicated shows and many more episodes on the way, new channels are divvying up rights to the comedy. Originally a Fox show, Mindy Kaling’s pet project moved to Hulu for its fourth, and soon to be fifth in October, seasons. That fourth season with Hulu yielded 26 episodes, a higher episode count than its predecessors on cable.

Newly recalibrated young adult channel Freeform (formerly ABC Family) and VH1 have moved in to purchase syndication rights to the first four seasons. The channels will also air all future episodes one year after their premiere on Hulu. Past episodes will soon air on the two channels starting on an unannounced date in the coming month.
