Michael Che Talks SNL With Seth Meyers
Michael Che was a guest on The Late Show with Seth Meyers last night. Che talked about getting the gig as Weekend Update Anchor on SNL, and spending the summer working at The Daily Show with the “smartest people in the world” and Che explains why he had no idea he worked at SNL last year when they hired him as a writer. Colin Jost had brought Michael on board as a guest writer- which normally lasts a few weeks. Nobody told him that he had been hired until one night when Seth told him, “you know you work here right?”
One of Che’s favorite sketch that he has written for the show, “12 Years Not a Slave” did not go over big with the audience, but he had a suggestion to loosen them up next time he writes a race-related sketch that makes white people nervous.
