Craig Ferguson is back in business with ABC. Although he’s not following Jimmy Kimmel or helping reboot “The Drew Carey Show”. He’s signed on for a pilot with the network called “The King Of 7B”. If the series is picked up, it will be a return to acting for the former Late Late Show host.

“The King Of 7B” stars Ferguson as Prentiss Porter who’s an agoraphobic and hasn’t left his apartment in almost a dozen years. What finally motivates him to come out and rejoin the rest of world? He sees a woman who he believes could be his soulmate moving into the building across the street from where he lives.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Ferguson’s character Prentiss Porter as “far from shy and humble; he wears a monogrammed dressing gown and has a refined,
upright, regal bearing.” THR also reports that this ends any speculation that Craig Ferguson is working on an early evening talk show that would air at 7:30pm in markets around the country on Tribune owned TV stations.

Ferguson will continue to host his game show “Celebrity Name Game” which is in syndication and was just renewed for a second season.
