In a radio interview with SiriusXM host Ron Bennington, Robert Klein said on Thursday that he had heard about Cosby’s crimes from multiple sources  as much as 25 years ago, including Janice Dickinson, a D.A. and an actress who worked on a film with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also said “I always thought he was a little on the soft side.” Klein was sitting in on SiriusXM’s Bennington Show with long time friend Jeffrey Gurian. He was there to promote an upcoming documentary the Weinstein Company is releasing about the legendary comic called “Robert Klein Still Can’t Stop His Leg.”

Klein is a legend in the comedy business, from his beginnings with Chicago’s famed Second City Troupe, to his record number of comedy specials. In 1975 Klein recorded HBO’s very first hour special. And he’s not one to mince words.

During the interview, Klein brought up Cosby, joking that “by the way he admitted to nothing. There is no proof. It’s just a case of he said, she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said she said, she said.” But then Klein turned serious, remembering that when he was dating Debbie Dickinson, her sister Janice Dickinson had told him about being assaulted by Cosby. “When I went with Debbie Dickinson,” Klein said, “her sister Janice told me 25 years ago, he’s an animal, he tried to drug me. I remember distinctly. And I remember thinking mmmmmm, but nothing was done about it.”

Klein also recalled working on a soundstage and hearing from a day player that she had been warned that Cosby was dangerous by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. “Gee, I was working on a show on a soundstage in LA and this woman’s a day player. It was a series I did a couple of years ago called The Stones with Judith Light. And this actress told how when she went on the set of the last Schwarzenegger movie, before he became governor, how he took her aside and said keep away from him. Keep a distance; talking about danger, not just annoyance. Who knows. I feel like these women have been vindicated because its a tough thing to keep to yourself.”

Klein relayed yet a third story from years past about hearing a district attorney say that Cosby was guilty. “There was a DA who said look, I know the truth when I hear it and this woman was telling the truth– from Temple– but I had no case and I couldn’t pursue it. So whatever it is he won’t be prosecuted criminally. He’s certainly not a man without talent. But his legacy is ruined and that’s the most that can happen in terms of that. But I always thought he was a little on the soft side to be honest with you.”
