If you like Jay & Silent Bob movies and you also like old style arcade games then take out your wallet because you are in luck! The popular director has lent his characters, his ideas, and his voice to a video game based on Jay and Silent Bob.  Its creators, a company called Interabang Entertainment (?!) (nope, nothing to do with us) are looking for help from you to create and launch the game.

The fundraising site of choice for this release is the site Fig which was designed specifically to source funding for the creation of video games from both investors and crowds. Fig originally only marketed to the more traditional style investors- wealthy parties that either made more than $200,000 a year or had $1 million in total assets but now anyone can join in with donations as low as $10.

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will provide voiceovers and storyline feedback on the project and promise to keep the game consistent with the film universe. Smith has also donated some swag and rewards; you can even buy yourself a walk on role in a Kevin Smith movie for the low price of $10k. According to the Fig page, the game will mix beat em up style with an insult-driven story-altering fight system. Titled Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, the game is described by its developers as “a colorful side-scrolling tag-team beat-em-up where players swap back and forth between our heroes on the fly or perform special moves simultaneously with a friend.”

The goal for Jay & Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is a pretty reasonable $400,000.  Smith and Mewes are all in- they even created a video to help with the funding and you can watch it below.
