Yet Another New Music and Comedy Festival Announced; This One Helmed by Chris Hardwick

Chris Hardwick is globbing his sundry media empires into a new two day festival called ID10T Music Festival & Comic Conival. Set in Silicon Valley for the weekend of June 24th, the Shoreline Amphitheatre will host music performances, stand-up sets, panels, autograph signings, cosplay tents, a comic book artist alley and exhibitor village. It’s insane and totally fitting that Chris Hardwick would decide to have his one festival that can’t be described with less than three hyphenates, and the lineups read like a party for Chris Hardwick and also everyone else.

In keeping with Hardwick’s brand, the festival is a lot of things all at once. ID10T will feature three stages for performances from Michael Che, Garfunkel & Oates, Nikki Glaser, Hampton Count, and others as well as a gaggle of indie musicians and a cosplay tent that’s also a nonstop electronic dance party. The lineup of comedians includes mostly big names, with “SNL” alums and acts that have had their own show, to comprise a fairly mainstream comedy show for this celebration of all things “alt”. Perhaps they’re not the typical club-touring comedians that most are familiar with, but they’re all definitely well-established performers for Hardwick to place his bets on. This makes sense; by merging various interests and communities, Hardwick has to forge shows that appeal to newcomers as well as hard-core fans.
