Will Forte, “The Last Man On Earth” Will Take Your Calls
If you’re interested in Will Forte’s new comedy on FOX, “The Last Man On Earth”, he’d like to hear from you. Promotional fliers have gone up around New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle and San Francisco with a phone number to call for Phil Miller, Forte’s character on the comedy series. The number has a Tuscon, Arizona area code. That’s where the setting for the series takes place. Will Forte will be answering the phone himself on a few of the calls. The rest get a pre-recorded message.
In the sitcom, Phil Miller is the last survivor of a virus that wiped out humanity in the year 2022. He has traveled the continent looking for other survivors, but returns to his hometown of Tuscon believing he’s the only one.
The fliers with The Last Man On Earth’s phone number are just part of a marketing campaign that FOX is using to get the word out. The network will also place branded vending machines in six different cities filled with items like food that will never go bad including Twinkies and Slim Jims, survival goods like flashlights and first-aid kits, plus some machines will have American Airlines gift cards and two $5,000 cash prizes. FOX is encouraging people to tweet #LastStuffonEarth” to get free codes for the machines.
