Who’s Hosting the SNL Season Premiere?

Last week, Saturday Night Live announced the three newest additions to their cast: Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor and Alex Moffat. The rookies were recruited to the show with less than a month until showtime, and now it’s almost time for them to take the stage. Also taking to the stage during the show’s 42nd season premiere, it’s been announced, are first-time host Margot Robbie and returning musical guest The Weeknd.

Robbie was one of the breakout stars of the ensemble antihero movie Suicide Squad alongside Will Smith, Viola Davis, Jared Leto, Ike Barinholtz and a host of others. While that was arguably the biggest production the young actress has been in to date, it certainly wasn’t her first rodeo; She hit it big playing Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in the hit Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street and also co-starred alongside Tina Fey in her comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Checking “Star in a superhero movie” and “Host Saturday Night Live” off of the list within a few months of each other? Now that’s called having a good year.
This will be The Weeknd’s second time performing on the show, this time in anticipation of his new album Starboy, which drops November 25th.
