Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: January 28, 2017

The Saturday Night Live stage is dark tonight- it’s an off week for the cast and crew. But if you still need some comedy to fall asleep to, NBC is running a rerun of their 2016 pre-Thanksgiving episode featuring SNL alum Kristin Wiig as host. Wiig is not only an alum- she’s a super-grad of the show. During her time on SNL, she was a stand out star and has had a prolific career since, starring in a long list of movies taking on both comedic and dramatic roles. The Martian, Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters, The Skeleton Twins, and Welcome to Me, are just a few of the movies she’s had starring or substantial roles in.

This episode features an Alec Baldwin Trump appearance and some other special guests like fellow alums Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte, and Steve Martin. The cold open features a post-election President-Elect Trump speaking with his transition team and getting a little nervous about the gig. Other election-themed bits included the digital short referencing Brooklyn as an idyllic city in a post-election bubble, and an Anderson Cooper sketch. Keep an eye out for Wiig and McKinnon pairing up as a pair of cat lovers in a sketch called ‘Whiskers are We”; Wiig also shines in a game show parody called “Secret Word”, and a QVC parody is just brilliant.
