Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live: July 2, 2016
Saturday Night Live isn’t live tonight, their regular season is over. But it’s July 4th weekend, and SNL is re-airing an episode that celebrates some of the greatest talent that America has to offer, with musical guest Bruce Springsteen, and two incredible hosts– Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. If you were going to rank the success of every SNL castmember, and some how mathematically throw in their post-SNL success, no matter how many times you rework the math, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will always show up somewhere around the top of that list. So this is truly an all-star episode. The show originally aired on December 19th as the last live show of 2015.
Spoiler alerts! The show was pretty epic- and included the return of Sarah Palin in a time travel sketch, the return of Tina and Amy to the Weekend Update desk, and our pick for the sketch of the night– a riotously funny game show sketch called “Meet Your Second Wife” with contestants played by Bobby Moynihan, Taran Killam and Kenan Thompson.
There are drop-ins galore, with an Amy Schumer surprise, a visit from Maya Rudolph, and a special surprise of Paul McCartney joining Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to sing “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” as the show closed.
