It’s officially summer in every way and Netflix wants to kick off the July 4th weekend with this very special “Welcome to Camp Firewood!” It’s the official Wet Hot American Summer: Welcome to Camp Firewood Trailer! There are a few reminders for all new campers:
- Remember to wear suntan lotion.
- It’s totally normal to cry on the first night of camp.
- The sign up sheet for archery is posted on the target. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE SIGNING UP FOR ARCHERY!
- Poison ivy is real.
- Also, all new counselors, please report immediately for orientation and a mandatory STD check.

For the handful of you who don’t know, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp is the prequel series to the 2001 cult classic, Wet Hot American Summer, which took place on the last day of camp in the Summer of ’81. The Netflix series takes place on the first day of camp, back in 1981. The series consists of eight half-hour episodes, from co-creators Michael Showalter and David Wain.
Back on board for the first day of camp are Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, David Hyde Pierce, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, AD Miles, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter, along with some new famous faces.
