Vikings, Seahawks To Wear Special Gear For One Of The Coldest Games On Record
Accuweather is predicting that temperatures for the NFL playoff game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings could reach lows of −20°F . As a result both teams will be outfitted with special cold-weather gear made by Minnesota-based WSI Sports. Founder Joel Wien says the gear is designed to reduce sweat, give warmth and guard against the wind while still allowing for full movement. This game might be cold, but it’s not the coldest in history. In 1967, the “Ice Bowl” between the Packers and the Cowboys at Lambeau Field was played in −48°F temperatures. That’s pretty cold for the Cowboys, but not nearly as cold as what Jerry Jones wants to do to them if Johnny Football comes to town.
