U.S. Navy Revokes Bill Cosby’s Honorary Title
Bill Cosby is no longer an honorary Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. The military branch revoked the title that was given to Cosby in 2011 over the sexual assault allegations against him. He had previously served 4 years in the Navy.
The U.S. Defense Department has finally gotten involved in the Cosby situation. NBC News reported that Ray Mabus, the United States Secretary of the Navy said in a statement, “The Navy is taking this action because allegations against Mr. Cosby are very serious and are in conflict with the Navy’s core values of honor, courage and commitment”. The Secretary did stop short of ordering Cosby keelhauled.
