Some big news from the Comedy Central Camp. Trevor Noah will not only take over as the new host of the Daily Show September 28th, but we’re also getting a one hour special from the young comic. The special was filmed at The Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C., and does not yet have a title or air date.

We’re also very excited to hear that our friend Big Jay Oakerson, who will also have a one-hour special filmed later this year for the network, is set to star in a short-form series for Comedy Central. The unscripted show, Lucky Loser, follows Jay as “the world’s most unlikely matchmaker.” In each episode Big Jay pairs a self-proclaimed loser with a potential hook-up. The catch is that Big Jay never leaves the couple’s side, roasting the lucky loser and his/her date all night long.” No date yet but you can expect to see the series later this year.  Last night Big Jay debuted his new Comedy Central radio show, The Bonfire on SiriusXM with co-host Dan Soder.

As previously announced,Comedy Central will broadcast Brian Regan: Live actually live from the legendary Radio City Music Hall on September 26th at 9pm EST. The special will be the first live stand-up special in Comedy Central’s history.  And Tune in on September 19, at 11pm for Steve Rannazzisi: Breaking Dad, a new one hour special filmed at Boston’s The Wilbur Theater.  ”

Comedy Central has also announced premiere dates for new and returning series this fall.  The new Rob Lowe animated series Moonbeam City premieres September 16 at 10:30pm right after the new season of South Park starts. Will Forte and Elizabeth Banks co star.

Season 19 of South Park begins on September 16, TripTank will begin on September 23 and season 3 of Nathan For You will kick off on October 15.

Keep your eye out for premiere dates for a few more brand new series, like White Flight from Matt Braunger, Newtimes and Six Guys One Car.
