A seventeen year-old transgender student has been awarded $75,000 in a lawsuit after school officials had previously made her use a staff bathroom instead of the girls’ bathroom. Nicole Maines was born a male, but has been identifying as a female since age two. Most people dream of having their own, private restroom in public but some people just can’t have nice things.
