Tracy Morgan Settles With Walmart, Releases Statement

Truck driver charged in crash that injured comedian Tracy Morgan

Comedian Tracy Morgan has settled his lawsuit with Walmart over the crash that left Morgan seriously injured last summer. The amount and details of the settlement have not been disclosed, but Morgan released a statement today saying “Wal-Mart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably.”

A spokesperson for Walmart said the settlement was amicable. Walmart CEO Greg Foran released a statement today saying ““Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident.”

Last summer, a Walmart truck collided with Morgan’s limo bus, seriously injuring Morgan and other friends including Ardie Fuqua and Jeffrey Milea and killing comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair. McNair had been pronounced dead at the scene. Morgan’s injuries included a broken leg, broken ribs and a traumatic brain injury. He is still continuing to recover.

Morgan filed suit against Walmart last year, alleging that the driver of the truck that had hit their bus had been up for over 24 hours at the time of the collision.

In January it was revealed that McNair’s family had settled for 10 million dollars.
