Tracy Morgan in Critical Condition; Driver of Truck Charged

Tracy Morgan is hospitalized in New Jersey following a six car accident in Cranbury Township. He is in intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. It is believed he was a passenger in a limo bus that overturned after two tractor trailers and three other vehicles including a white SUV crashed at about 1am. One passenger in the limo bus has died, three people who were riding in the limo were in critical condition and one in fair condition. Six people were injured altogether.

Morgan was traveling with his “Turn it Funny” tour and had performed in Delaware on Friday night.

TMZ is also reporting that Tracy’s opening act Ardie Fuqua was also traveling on the bus and tweeted pictures last night with the bus prior to the accident. “We traveled back to NYC in style in a luxury Mercedes Sprinter. Road life is a good life!” was posted on his facebook.

Friends of Morgans are also tweeting that comedian Harris Stanton was also one of the people involved in the accident. But there are reports on Facebook that Harris is now home, and okay. Comedy website “The Comic’s Comic” is reporting that comedian and close friend of Morgan, James McNair, 63, known as “Jimmy Mack” was the fatality being reported in the crash.

UPDATE DRIVER CHARGED WITH DEATH BY AUTO AND ASSAULT BY AUTO:

The New York Times is reporting that charges have been filed against the driver of the truck that caused the accident. Comedian James McNair (Jimmy Mack) was killed in the accident. Tracy Morgan and his assistant Jeff Millea were critically injured and were airlifted by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Comedians Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton were also hospitalized. Stanton has been treated and released, but Fuqua, Millea and Morgan are all listed as in critical condition. The driver, 35 year old Kevin Roper has been charged with death by auto and assault by auto after he swerved to avoid hitting slow moving traffic, and slammed into the Limo bus, causing it to overturn.

“Tracy remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.  He sustained these injuries in an accident that occurred early this morning as one of several passengers in a chauffered SUV returning from a tour date in Delaware,” rep Lewis Kay said in a statement. “His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care.  We don’t anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available.”
