George Lopez, Wanda Sykes and Patton Oswalt to Headline Gilda’s Laughfest 2015
2014 isn’t over yet, but the 2015 Festival Season is already firing up! The first festival to get things moving for next year, Gilda’s Laughfest 2015 has announced George Lopez, Patton Oswalt, and Wanda Sykes, will headline next year’s comedy festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The festival will be held March 5th through March 15th, 2015 with performances at different venues in Grand Rapids.
Other comedians set to perform at Gilda’s Laughfest this year include Lavell Crawford from “Breaking Bad, Billy Gardell from “Mike and Molly” on CBS. and comedian, writer and actor Brian Posehn who will be doing 4 shows during Laughfest.
In 2015, Gilda’s Laughfest is bringing back the Blue & Late Comedy Series from Bud Light. So far, two comedians have been announced for the series, Jerrod Carmichael just off of his new HBO special, “Love at the Store” and Iliza Shlesinger, the season 6 “Last Comic Standing” winner.
The Clean Comedy Showcase will feature Joe List, Todd Andrews, Tracey Ashley, Sid Davis, Erin Foley, Dale Jones, Andrew Norelli and PJ Walsh, and the Gun Lake Casino National Comedy Showcase is bringing in big comedy talent with Joe DeRosa, Dan Soder, Sara Schaefer, Liza Tryeger, Kyle Grooms, Ian Karmel, Randy Liedtke, Jared Logan, Alingon Mitra, and Sheng Wang. The showcase will take place throughout Laughfest.
Gilda’s Laughfest also will feature the annual Super Saturday Kids Zone and Saturday Nite Teen Zone featuring a carnival and kids’s band–Recess Monkey. Laughfest will help support the “High Five Campaign” which benefits children living with cancer or grief, and in-school emotional health programs run by Gilda’s Club in Grand Rapids.
Gilda’s Club is an ongoing tribute to the brilliant Gilda Radner who passed away from ovarian cancer in 1989. Gilda’s Club was started in New York City and chapters have spread across the country as community support centers for cancer patients and their families.
