The Shark Tank Shark-Fight You Might Have Missed

Were the Shark Tank producers trying to down play a fight between the razor sharp Lori Grenier and the cool-but-ruthless Daymond John?

This week on Shark Tank we watched Lori get into a feeding frenzy with fellow sharks over the “Scrub Daddy”– a smile faced scrubbing sponge. If you were watching really closely, you might have noticed Daymond pull a fast one on Lori when he confessed that he never wanted the product in the first place– he only bid on it to raise the price, thereby forcing Lori to spend more cash on the investment:

Daymond John: The good news is, I just made you an extra 100 thousand. I’m out. I wanted to stick it to her.

But Daymond’s comment went by so quickly and quietly, and with no reaction from the other sharks. It was so underplayed, in fact, that we almost missed it.

And yet, earlier this week, Lori was at the SiriusXM studios in New York on the Ron and Fez show, where she told Ron Bennington that she was so furious with Daymond, that she was fuming for an hour after they finished taping.

Lori Grenier: This Friday night, the 26th of October, there is a great episode on Shark Tank. The nastiest, drag out fight I have ever had with Damon…ever.

Ron Bennington: You don’t like Daymond…

Lori Grenier: I love Daymond. I actually love Daymond. He’s a very funny guy. Really, he’s a friend. But sometimes he gets in the tank, you know, and this other little guy comes out. (Laughs) It’s like Jeckyl and Hyde, like who are you? What happened? (Laughs) Uh, and Hyde comes out Friday night. Comes out of Daymond. And so I think it will be very…I’m very interested to see it myself, because I was sitting there. I know what happened. And I remember it took me about an hour to get over it, afterwards.

She even confessed to getting a little physical over the beef.

Lori Grenier: People like to win…Daymond likes to win. And uh…well you’ll see. Because he does something, I’m telling you…he does something Friday night I’ve never seen him do before. It was really devilish! Mmmm hmmmm.

Ron Bennington: When you do the show, I don’t think that you lose much when you really decide to go after it. And I know that they undercut each other…let’s face it….but you normally, I think, get what you want or you’re out fast. He must have undercut you.

Lori Grenier: Wait till you see…I wish I could tell you, I wish I could reveal. But I’m not joking when I tell you, we cut for lunch right afterwards…I went up to him, gave him a little punch, and then….it took me about an hour to get over it.

Why didn’t the showdown make the air? Get dramatic music? Some snarky reaction shots? Maybe the producers are holding out for the DVD extras reel. We’ll be staying tuned to see if Lori gets revenge.
