The New and Improved, Did You Hear? With Kashmere! October 7

Between dealing with kids, dealing with work, and dealing with Take Your Kids to Work Day, you may have missed some of the most insane things celebrities did this week. Well, have no fear — because Kashmere is here with his finger on the pulse and his eyes on every Instagram account of anyone worth talking about. From Oscar winners to reality TV royalty, to even actually royalty; here are the craziest stories going on this week. Welcome to our newest series, “Did You Hear? With Kashmere!”
Kashmere (also known as Danny Murphy) is a comedian, writer, and pop culture connoisseur (despite not really knowing how to spell connoisseur). He currently writes for Betches and Marie Claire and has also been featured in Glamour, Seventeen and Town & Country. When he’s not drinking red wine or iced coffee while watching Bravo, he’s performing around New York and hosting PASS THE AUX at The Stonewall Inn and DO I SEND IT? at Branded Saloon. Follow his fake reality show AKA his Instagram stories, @kashmeredanny.

Sorry for the delay this week in telling you all I’ve heard, because if you haven’t heard sweater weather is officially here so I spent this weekend alternating between staring at my cashmeres I can’t wait to wear and also dealing with food poisoning I definitely got from testing out a new delivery place near my apartment. This is what I get from taking risks.

You Can’t Handle the Truth — So You Need A Drink:

This cocktail round is actually coming from a professional cause I somehow got sent a GOODIE BOX from the amazing 5WPR. They filled it with adorable iced coffee swag and also, Sparkling Ice cocktail suggestions that’s perfect for solo or group drinking! This isn’t #spon, but wow I’m open to that anyone. Like tell me what to promote and I’m down. Check out the recipe below!

What You Need
Ice
2 oz bourbon
1 bottle Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry
1 orange wedge
1 maraschino cherry
1 cocktail stick

How to Make it
In a cocktail shaker, combine bourbon and ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with orange wedge and cherry.

Shocked to Not

Let’s rank the five most shocking (or not remotely surprising at all) stories from this past week.
  1. Everyone Was at the SNL After Party But Me |I’m pretty sure the only two things I’ve talked about this year are the second season of Fleabag and Taylor Swift’s most recent album. So, you could say I was slightly shocked to hear that both of them were on SNL at the same time and no one thought to be like, “wait Kashmere needs to be here.” Imagine the dish I could have gotten from INSIDE THE HOUSE. Regardless, a PA or someone invited to the after party spilled some deets and apparently Joe and Taylor had some rare moments of PDA. Lovers for Lover!
  2.  Was There A Royal Phone Hack? | Prince Harry has been snapping this past week at the press, something I don’t think we’ve ever seen a member of the Royal Family do before. From lawsuits to shady comments, Harry seems to have had it with all the tabloids — especially now, cause apparently someone hacked his phone and stole voicemails? I personally didn’t know a) people still left voicemails and b) you could steal them? I guess this is a strong selling point for the Royal Family to just communicate via Snapchat.!
  3. Power Outage Be Damned: Strippers Danced in Dark with Lil Jon | I mainly had to include this story because there are some headlines so insane that they require an eye check and a coffee spit take. How some things become news is beyond me but I have to admit, I do feel like a better person for knowing Lil Jon had fun with some dancers in the dark. Maybe this could be a new frontier for other strip clubs to go green! Greta’s impact.
  4. Bebe Rexha Bares All for Her 30th Birthday | 50 Cent has started a new career as a professional troller, and it kind of makes my life but also confuses me. This time he’s taking it to a new level and producing a docuseries on Tekashi 6ix9ine — current clown du jour. it’s supposed to be all about his rise and fall which raises the question to me: when was his rise?
  5. Comedian Rip Taylor Has Passes Away at 84 | No major details yet, but Rest In Peace and you can read more about his career here. ❤️

The More You Know: Our Weekly Life Lesson From the A-to-Z List

DON’T LEAVE VOICEMAILS. Unless you work for SNL and want to issue me an apology for not inviting me to the after party this weekend because… I’m still kind of hurt.

Blast From the PAST:

In honor of the diet I told myself I’m going to start this week, this photo of Kristen Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal main-lining salad in a depressing and hysterical way is my motivation.

Stream or Scream?

THE POLITICAN. I’m a little late to the game but it’s truly worth the hype. It’s very Ryan Murphy-esque, for better or for worse, but it’s done so well and I really enjoy the design and feel of it.
