Comedy Central announced today that they’re giving the go ahead to Season Three of The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. The little show held in the back of a comic shop is LA’s hottest stand up show and now it’s coming back to Comedy Central for another round of shows.

Season Three will consist of eight episodes and will be executive produced by Jonah Ray, Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon.

“There continues to be no better way to experience the best, live weekly stand-up show in LA than ‘Meltdown,’” said Ken Alterman, President of Original Programming for Comedy Central. “Except for actually being there, of course.”

The show is shot at the Nerdist Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics, Los Angeles’ premiere comic book store, and captures some major names in comedy both on and off stage. The second season, directed by Lance Bangs, featured performances by Andy Daly, Fred Armisen, Kate Berlant, Kurt Braunohler, Hannibal Buress, John Early, Brett Gelman, Abbi Jacobson, Ron Funches, Ilana Glazer, Lauren Lapkus, Natasha Leggero, Al Madrigal, Joe Mande, John Mulaney, Aparna Nancherla, Chelsea Peretti, Paul Sheer, Nick Thune and Hampton Yount, among others. The series also features intimate and backstage moments with comedians and celebrities who stop by just to hang out in the green room.

Season Two aired this summer, in the show’s fifth year reigning as the premiere indie comedy show in Los Angeles. Both Jonah and Kumail have plenty of other projects keeping them busy now, but the Meltdown continues on.
