The Daily Show’s Larry Wilmore Named As Successor To Stephen Colbert
Comedy Central has gone to “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” on the Daily Show to find a replacement for Stephen Colbert.
The Daily Show’s “Senior Black Correspondent”, Larry Wilmore will be taking over the 11:30 pm et time slot currently held by Colbert Report. The Emmy award winner will host his brand new show “The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore” starting in January, 2015.
Comedy Central says “The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore” will be designed with a “distinct point of view” and will deliver the day’s news and current events with a comedic perspective not currently represented in late night television.
Executive producer Jon Stewart said – “While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan.”
