The 5: best comedy songs of all time (funniest songs of all time)

5. Adam Sandler – Ode To My Car.

Yes, the Chanukah Song is more popular, and Adam Sandler’s latest release Farley from his Netflix special “100% Fresh” is downright legendary, but this is the one that made Adam Sandler a legend in school cafeterias for an entire generation back in the 90s. The song was released in 1996, and still holds up after twenty five years. From the album What The Hell Happened To Me? The album is certified double-platinum, and is the best-selling comedy album since Neilson SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. This song is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

4. Bo Burnham – Repeat Stuff

Bo Burnham is an absolute force, and his satirical jabs and biting commentary on pop music fused with a tongue-in-cheek catchy hook, make this song absurdly funny. His anger towards pop music is palpable, and the writing on this track is amongst his best. He never misses an opportunity to make a point with a joke. Despite the songs message, you’ll also find yourself singing along. I guess a catchy hook is a catchy hook, regardless of the words.

3. The Flight Of The Conchords – Business Time

The sexiest entry on the list. Flight of the Conchords have a mundane approach to comedy-music reveling in the ordinary. These New Zealanders have the perfect dry delivery to sum up the majority of married sex life. It’s familiar, it’s comfortable, and it’s necessary. If love making in a long term relationship becomes work, these guys figured out how to whistle while they do it. Between picking the perfect night of the week to make love, and the importance of sorting out the recycling, this song fires on all cylinders.

2. Tenacious D – Tribute

This song has everything, comedy, adventure, Dave Grohl as the devil. What more do you want? The music video is top notch, and it would’ve easily taken top spot had they actually remembered the greatest song in the world, but as it stands, Tribute is still one of the greatest comedy-music songs in the world. The concept of this song is genius, and the epic journey it takes us on is spectacular. Suffice to say, I believe they succeeded in changing rock history.

1. The Lonely Island – Lazy Sunday

This is the song that essentially made YouTube. Business Insider said it “changed YouTube forever,” and it made Entertainment Weekly’s best-of-the-decade list. YouTube was just 5 months old when this video dropped, and it’s viral success increased YouTube’s website traffic by 83%. It also doesn’t rely on a star appearance from a SNL guest host, and Andy Sandberg was largely unknown at the time. This song instead excels from being just being 100% pure concentrated funny.
