Texas Senator Wendy Davis, a Democrat, has begun a 12-hour filibuster aginast a bill that would put severe restrictions on abortions. Under the bill, abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy would be banned, all clinics would be required to be upgraded to high-standard surgical centers, doctors would need admitting privileges at hospitals and new restrictions would be placed on abortion-inducing pill procedures.
