Strong List of Comedy Guests Will Join 2 Dope Queens For HBO Specials

Hit comedy podcast 2 Dope Queens starring Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson is coming to HBO in February, and at TCA today they promised it will be a lot like their podcast but with a makeup and wig budget.

featuring some great celebrity guests (Uzo Aduba, Tituss Burgess, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jon Stewart). Comedy fans will be excited to see that some great stand up talents are also on board for the four themed episodes.

Michelle Buteau, Mark Normand and Baron Vaughn show up for the debut episode of the series run, where the theme is New York, and pizza knowledge will be on the line with special guest Jon Stewart. In later episodes, Aparna Nancherla, Rhea Butcher, Sheng Wang, John Early, Jackie Kashian, Kevin Barnett, Naomi Ekperigin, Al Jackson and Gary Gulman will appear on episodes titled “Hair”, “Hot Peen”, and “Black Nerds aka Blerds”.

The girls and their guests will talk about living in New York City, the importance of pizza knowledge, the ins and outs of black hairstyles, channeling Beyonce, failed attempts to hook up with celebrities, fashion inspiration and yes, there will be nerd talk.

Tune in to HBO on Friday February 2nd at 11:30pm, for the premiere episode with Jon Stewart, Michelle Buteau, Mark Normand and Baron Vaughn, and every Friday in February after that. All four hours taped before a live audience at Brooklyn’s Kings Theater.

If you haven’t been listening to the podcast now is a good time to start. You already Jessica Williams from “The Daily Show” and she’s set to star and executive produce a comedy series. Phoebe Robinson is the New York Times bestselling author of “You Can’t Touch My Hair (And Other Things I Still Have to Explain)” and she’s appeared on “Broad City,” “Search Party” and “Conan.” She wrote for the upcoming final season of “Portlandia,” and makes her film debut this summer in “Ibiza.”
