Researchers at the University of Vermont have concluded that all books fall into one of the six following emotional categories:
“Rags to riches”: Steady rise
“Riches to rags” or “Tragedy”: Steady Fall
“Man in a hole”: Fall-Rise
“Icarus”: Rise-Fall
“Cinderella”: Rise-Fall-Rise
“Oedipus”: Fall-Rise-Fall
So, now you know Oedipus is more than just a story about a dude who wanted to sleep with his mom.
