Steve Carell Reads His Worst Review Ever on Letterman

Steve Carell’s acting wasn’t always as celebrated as it is now. His first sitcom, Over the Top aired on NBC. Annie Potts and Tim Curry played a divorced couple running a boutique hotel in New York City. Carell played the hotel’s Greek Chef. A website called Teevee.com reviewed his performance, and they had a less than favorable opinion about Carell’s first tv gig. It was a bad review. So Carell decided to take himself down a notch last night in front of David Letterman’s audience and read the review on The Late Show.
“I have stood in a freezer full of dead people at the morgue. I have seen a man’s scalp pulled back over his nose. I’ve even seen 35 minutes of Ellen DeGeneres’s Mr. Wrong. But I can now honestly say that until Steve Carell’s turn in the premiere of Over the Top, I have never known true horror.”
Wonder what ever happened to teevee.com.
