Spoiler Alert! The Apprentice is Back and Another Woman Has a Reason To Feel Bad About Bill Cosby

Keshia-Knight-PulliamThe Celebrity Apprentice started its new season Sunday night.  And the show known for its awkward moments between celebrities, had plenty of weird ones due to a celebrity who isn’t even on the show, Bill Cosby.

Part of the cast this season is Keshia Knight Pulliam. She played the adorable and youngest daughter, Rudy Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” in the 80s and early 90s. In the first task on Celebrity Apprentice, grown up Rudy volunteered to be the project manager, and so when her team didn’t win the challenge (something about pies), her head was on the chopping block in Trump’s board room.  The players were all scrambling to bring in big donations, so the question of the night was, why the team leader wasn’t calling up her TV dad asking for the big bucks. Keshia finally confessed to the group that she hadn’t spoken to Cosby in at least 5 years and felt awkward calling him. Not as awkward as the audience felt hearing that a man accused of drugging and sexually assaulting women could have written a huge check to give his TV daughter a win on a reality show.  Keshia Knight Pulliam was the first celebrity fired from the Trump show and the main reason Trump gave her was not calling on Cosby. Of course all of this went down months before Cosby’s accusers went super-public, since The Apprentice tapes their season way ahead of its air dates.

Trump put out the following tweet about when the show was pre-recorded.  So either Trump felt the weirdness as the first episode aired, or more likely, he thought this would help with the ratings.

A celebrity who was in no danger of facing termination was comedian Gilbert Gottfried. Gilbert is on the all male celebrity team, “Vortex” which he originally wanted to name “Gilbert’s Warriors”. That idea was rejected but so far it looks like Gilbert is going to win most likeable teammate, if that award ever gets given out.  He may not be a junior business leader, but Gilbert supervised balloons, provided dancers and a look-a-like who became known as “Howard Stern-ish” and surprised the f*ck out of all his teammates  who found him to be loveable and helpful.

The Celebrity Apprentice moves to its regular time with two brand new episodes on Monday, January 5th at 8 pm et on NBC. Here’s to hoping the next challenge involves a lecture from a Sony rep about email etiquette.  When do they tape these things?
