Sony Pictures Gets Hacked

If there is anything people like more than movies, it’s stealing movies. Sony Pictures has been hacked and at least five of their films have been uploaded to illegal file sharing sites. Annie, Fury, Mr. Turner, Alice, and To Write Love On Her Arms— all hacked. Fury has been downloaded by over 888,000 unique IP addresses since November 27th. That’s high enough to be the second most-downloaded movie currently being pirated, and it’s not out of movie theaters yet. Annie, is being pirated three weeks ahead of its own wide release. Bad news for Sony, but great news for the Academy since it sounds like screener season has come early.

Police are looking into a connection with a robbery at the Orville Redenbacher plant where thieves made off with over 62 trucks filled with popcorn.
