SNL’s Heartwarming Ad For ISIS Upsets The Twitterverse
Saturday Night Live hit a sore spot with their parody spot for the terrorist group, ISIS. The spot featuring host Dakota Johnson as a young girl being dropped off by her sentimental dad played by Taran Killam as she heads out on the next phase of her life, is a parody of Toyota’s “My Bold Dad” commercial from this year’s Super Bowl.
In the twist from the original, instead of the teary eyed dad dropping off his daughter to join the U.S. military, she’s leaving home to join ISIS. There was a recent news story about 3 British girls who were found out to be trying to join the terror organization, plus 3 Americans were arrested this week for trying to get to Libya to sign up.
Tweets came in saying that the SNL sketch wasn’t funny, went too far and was offensive. But then some felt that way about the original Toyota spot.

“@hotshot70: If you think #SNL went too far with that ISIS skit, let them know, here @nbcsnl and on their home page. And RT this to others.”

Death To America……Not Funny #SNL #ISIS are your writers that WEAK that they can't think of other skits?

Dear #SNL, jokes about Isis are not funny. See how much you laugh when you have to see your loved one(s) being slaughtered. No respect.
