In Saturday Night Live’s 40th season premiere, the NFL’s recent player domestic problems and scandals were a huge target. NBC had no problem with its comedy franchise taking shots at its sports business associate in its sketches.
You know the league’s been fucking up when a partner shows no fear in mocking it. It’ll be interesting to see how different Saturday Night Live’s going to look when these guys get their three-week suspensions…
Saturday Night Live took on the NFL from the minute they were on the air with a cold open featuring an incompetent Commissioner Roger Goodell and caricatures of former players Ray Lewis and Shannon Sharpe, who both have faced serious criminal accusations.
