On Monday, January 12th, SiriusXM is launching SiriusXM “Insight”. The brand new channel is taking the place of SiriusXM Public Radio.
The plan is for the channel to be a mix of comedy and news in the vain of comedians like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher.
Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer at SiriusXM said, “We’re going to look at issues in a slightly edgier, more youthful way than traditional public radio has done in the past.”
SiriusXM Insight will feature Pete Dominick hosting the morning show at Insight. John Fugelsang with a weekday afternoon show and Muslim-American comedian Dean Obeidallah will be featured once a week. Plus, Neil deGrasse Tyson will have a daily show talking science and pop culture. Journalist Karen Hunter will host a nightly talk show, there will be a rabbi discussing Jewish issues, an expert on transcendental meditation hosts a weekly show on stress relief and Republican activist Margaret Hoover will have her own daily call-in show.
SiriusXM Insight premieres Monday, January 12th.
