It’s a selfie world, and we’re not going to fight it anymore. So our series, Seven Selfies, asks an artist to share seven photos of themselves, taken by themselves, to share a day in their life. We’ve already featured Danny Lobell, Pete Dominick, Blair Socci, Doug Smith & Matt Wayne, Kurt Braunohler & Lauren Cook and Matteo Lane! Our latest features writer, performer and female drag queen Amanda Duarte who is the host and creator of Dead Darlings, a fantastic show where comedy writers get to resurrect those precious pieces of writing that they love but have had to kill for the sake of a larger piece. You’ve heard the phrase “kill your darlings?” Well this is a chance for artists to bring them back to life.
The next resurrection takes place at Judson Memorial Church, and it’s a free event with a suggested donation of $10 to benefit Emily’s List. This month’s show is hosted by Amanda Duarte as always and features Lauren Duca (Teen Vogue), Josh Gondelman (Last Week Tonight, Modern Seinfeld), Mac Rogers (playwright: The Honeycomb, Steal the Stars)
and special guest Raquel Cion (cabarettista, breast cancer survivor). It’s also the one year anniversary of the series, so it’s a very special night taking place November 8, at 8pm at Judson Memorial Church. Here’s where to go for information and tickets.
