Seth Rogen has been working on his talking hot dog movie for 10 years. Last night on The Tonight Show, he explained how they wanted it to have the look and feel of a Pixar movie, only completely deranged. Pixar has done the secret life of cars and bugs and toys, and so Rogen thought, let’s do food. The music is by Oscar winner, Alan Menkin, who did the music for Aladdin and the Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, (all won Oscars) as well as Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, Tangled and more. Rogen said that they offered him money and that was pretty much how it worked.

The score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

Sausage Party is in theaters Friday, August 11.
